Dear Georgiana,
After the whole ordeal with Lydia and Wickham, I decided to stay in London for
another fortnight. Surprisingly, I received a letter from Bingley asking if I
wanted to go to Netherfield with him. I told him yes. We left the next week.
Before arriving at Netherfield, we stopped by Longbourne. We had tea and
crumpets with the Bennet women. We were invited back for dinner. We accepted.
After dinner, we thanked them and went on our way to Netherfield. After talking
to Jane all day (not to mention her talking about the whole ride up to
Longbourne and then to Netherfield), Bingley decided he wanted to propose to
her. About ten in the morning, we went back to the Bennet house. He asked to
speak to her privately and I stayed outside. While I was outside, Elizabeth
walked outside and we started to chat. Suddenly, there was a loud yell from
inside the house. We ran inside and Mrs. Bennet screams, “JANE’S GETTING
MARRIED TO MR. BINGLEY.” She then ordered the servants to prepare an
extravagant brunch for everyone. We spent the whole day with the Bennets. Late
that evening, we said our farewells and departed. Stay well.
Your
favorite brother,
Fitzwilliam
